What is the difference between 1:1 Coaching and RunSpace Club options?
1:1 coaching is completely bespoke, flexible, fully immersive, adaptable plans - this is recommended if you have an exact time at an exact race in mind, if you have goals or circumstances which need that extra bit of creativity to train around, or if you just really like geeking out over the stats! This involves deep dives and feedback into your specific paces, progress, plateaus and performance, a direct 1:1 whatsapp channel and 1:1 calls with Cat - if you need specificity and accountability, this is the level for you!
RunSpace Club, on the other hand, is delivered in a group setting, with a shared weekly speed session (with 4 different options). Your paces and distances are individualised, and you'll work towards goals of your choice. You can pick from 3-5 runs, and 1-3 S&C, sessions per week. You'll be included in a monthly group call, and have recommended strength and form work to include alongside your training, as well as access to the RunSpace S&C library. This is best for athletes who want a highly personalised training plan to improve their running in general, as well as those who thrive on group support.
BOTH 1:1 and the Club options include all RunSpace virtual and in-person events (which happen four times a year) and membership to the website. The website is full of typical whiteboard tutorials, indexed usefully, so that you don't just train - you UNDERSTAND the 'why' behind every single session, cycle and goal.
Who will I be coached by?
1:1 training is delivered only by Cat. RunSpace Club Coaching and RunSpace Training Plans are delivered by Cat and Tom - a new RunSpace recruit, who is both Jesse-approved and superbly knowledgeable about running in his own right.
What is the difference between RunSpace Club Training Plans and RunSpace Club Coaching?
Here's a video to demonstrate!
Who is RunSpace Club Training/Coaching suitable for?
RunSpace Club Training/Coaching is suitable for those who have fairly conventional running goals (for instance, road or trail races of 5km-marathon, not quirky ultras where you eat a donut every 2 miles), and fairly predictable availability. It's great for those who are self-motivated, want structure and accountability, and thrive on group camaraderie.
How flexible is RunSpace Club Training/Coaching?
You can move the sessions around on the app as much as you need - sessions don't have to be completed on a given day. You can also ask to change the number/level of runs and strength sessions per week - although do note that as this is coach-led training, not AI-driven, updates will be performed as soon as possible, rather than being instant!
Life is flexible - training should be, also.
Can I change from RunSpace Club to 1-2-1 and vice-versa?
Yes - group coachees are given "first dibs" on 1-2-1 spaces when they become available. Therefore it's a great way to dip your toe in the water and see if 1-2-1 coaching may be for you!
Is there a minimum term of commitment?
Technically, just 1 month. HOWEVER, running is a slow burner: I recommend consistently commiting for 3 months before you start to see improvements. And if you need to pause, cancel or take a break, just give us 1 week's notice via a message through the training app (Final Surge).
